Default operating system not found!!! argh! - 05-02-2010, 08:10 AM

after i messed up my dell with a snow leopard update i tried starting from fresh again. i got xp back on it and when i plug the 2 sticks in and turn the machine on its says:

"PXE-E61: Media test failure, check cable

ive re-created the 2 sticks again using different methods but still nothing

i have a HDD with a backup of my snow leopard using time machine. i just want to be up and running again like i was before

Make sure you have USB Legacy Enabled.

Also set your device boot order up correctly in your bios. (F2>>'Boot' tab>>select USB Devices>>set your small USB drive as the first using f6>>save and exit)
Hope that helps.
