It's safe if you update to Netbook Installer 0.8.4 RC1 first

If you have a 10v, it's safe as long you install & run Netbook Installer 0.8.4 RC1 beforehand. And follow the instructions in the Upgrade thread. I upgraded my 10v tonight without issue. Real easy. When you reboot after the upgrade, don't touch anything! Let NBI do the work.
