Hi. So, do you mean..how to eg: make a copy of your install onto a HD, then be able to boot off the external HD? If that's yes, then:
- Format external HD using DiskUtility in the same way as for your onboard HD.
- Get something like SuperDuper (free version available) and do a copy of your Mac OS partition onto the external HD.
- Install Chameleon bootloader onto your external HD. Or I guess you could run NetBookInstaller or something on the external HD, but that might wipe out any changes you'd made to /Extra, DSDT, smbios etc files.
If you have it configured right, it should then be bootable provided of course you set BIOS to boot from the external drive.

Do you want to use the External HD as the install media or as the installation target (and boot to the external HD for the main OS)?

If you want to use it as the installation media, then follow the normal procedure but use the External HD instead of a flash drive. You would restore a copy of SL onto the External HD and prepare it with NetbookBootMaker.

Everything else is outlined in the guide. (find guides on Mechdrew's site... link in sig)

Is there any way possible to make a bootable external HD or USB using Netbookbootmaker without a Mac? Or some kind of way to make a bootable USB for OSX intall without a Mac or external DVD?
