Default audio recording apps on a dell mini; Logic Pro 8 & audacity - 02-16-2010, 02:38 AM

Hello out there in "Mydellminiland," could anyone please help me achieve a "what you hear" style of audio recording? Recording sound samples from the apps, mics, usb midi hardware, etc...

I'm transferring the studio setup onto the dellmini10/osx for on the go audio tinkering/editing. The main rig was a PC, soundforge, ableton, sonar, and fruity-loops. (yeah, i still produce with loops)

In logic 8, under preferences->audio->devices->core audio-> the device bubble says..."built-in input"...

Are there ways to set it up to record the audio of other apps? such as quicktime, itunes, vlc, etc?

I'm trying to do the same thing is audacity, it says "default input source"...

Default Check Soundflower - 02-16-2010, 03:26 AM

Google soundflower. It's like an analog loop back. I don't and haven't used, but have checked it out.

I work with Logic Studio on a real Mac, i dont think, that the mini is fast enough to do that.

I'm pretty sure that the Dell Mini can handle Soundflower. As someone said before, it's an audio loopback which you can use to record system audio. OS X supports it as an input option right out of the box, but you need to have Soundflower running.
