I boot my Mini 9 on 10.5.7 I then connect an external DVD drive with SL install DVD I also connect an external USB HD I run the SL installer and choose the external USB drive Install runs for a while, then it reboots the Mini, to be left with only a single folder on the USB partition, full of PKG files Incidentally, while my external drives are connected, my mouse becomes erratic, then stops working - both trackpad and external mouse Any ideas? Thanks Jim |

it looks like you have unpacked your sl dvd to the harddrive and not installed. *.pkg are packages with that you can run an installation p. e. what you wanted to do? |

No, I actually ran the install, looked like it unpacked these - maybe it does this and then is supposed to continue from these? They are about 3.5Gb in size. If I run them, they all run and do a bit of the process, but the permissions etc. will not be set |

Ah, ok you try to install SL to the external harddrive? why dont install to the internal harddrive? Once you ve used SL you dont wanna go back to Leo. For external install you have to search in the OSX guides, i mean theres one guide for you. An other way is to put your external harddrive in your mini 10v and install, after change it back in the usb case and you will be ready to boot from the external drive in your SL on it. Good luck.
