You can use either. However, if you download the combo update it will rid yourself of alot of SUID warnings in disk utility. I think the combo update is the way to go IMO. You can get the combo update for 10.5.6 and not have to get it for 10.5.5 and then update again.

One thing that isn't really mentioned anywhere... Make sure to check the options on your install. Leave off the install of the languages you don't need, and the printer drivers you don't need. That was over 7 gigs of stuff for me, and I couldn't understand how I had 1 gig of free space.
We should add that to the install guides, btw... but otherwise, everything worked flawlessly, yesterday, for me. Went very easily for me...
