Default Tips and tricks for a first time apple user? - 02-06-2010, 10:33 PM

Hey there, first off I want to say thank you very much to everyone at this forum, mechdrew for writing a great tutorial, and the writers of all the programs. You guys are just awesome!!

So this is the first time I'v ever used a mac, any tips on how to streamline this OSX on a dell mini 10v?

Some preference panels seem to stretch down past the bottom of my screen, how do I remedy this?

Thanks

Try dragging the Syst Pref window all the way to the top of the screen.

Display 'em by alphabet, not by category (via menu).

I read somewhere that just by opening one, then hitting SHOW ALL, it will then display a scroll bar on the side.

If you're using Snow Leopard for the first time you'll appreciate this manual - some of it also applies to Leopard (10.5x)

Open Preferences, select a random option (for example 'Mouse') then click 'Show All' in the toolbar. It will then show you the Preferences again but this time with a scroll bar so you can see all of the options.
