Default Using a Mini 9 in my home theater. - 02-03-2010, 12:21 PM

I considering a purchase of a mini 9 but would like to know if anyone is using them as a home theater PC? I would like to run snow leopard OSx and run frontrow for my movies and hulu desktop to watch shows. Question is because of the small drive size can you stream movies over the wifi like you can with the apple tv?

Forget about using it with Hulu TV, it doesnt have the horsepower to handle that. You can use it to watch movies with frontrow, but it is best to have the movie file copied onto the DM9's harddrive and not rely on streaming. If you ask me, I would recommend buying a Mac Mini for your home theatre dreams.

OSX 10.6.4

I really love my mini9 but multimedia is not it's strength. There are so many other cheap media pc's I'd go with that would allow better graphics card with more memory.

mini 9 | 2GB RAM | 16GB STEC SDD | BIOS A06, USB Legacy OFF | No Bluetooth | OSX 10.6.7 | NBI 0.8.5pre w/ ALC268 | Broadcom2Airport
MINI Cooper '02 | 1.6L | CVT | Moonroof | Red w/ White Stripes

Want the ALC268 mini 9 sound fix? Get it here
