Working (Somewhat) Internal Audio On Resume From Sleep - 12-21-2008, 07:27 PM
Well, I seem to have stumbled upon a way to get internal audio working after resuming from sleep with a Runcore SSD in OS X.
First off, the headphone out does not work using this process. Perhaps it's a simple fix... I'll leave that to the smarter members of this forum to sort out, as I'm a newbie .
Secondly, this driver does not seem to offer microphone functionality, so bear that in mind.
Third, Mute works with this driver.
Finally, this driver does reintroduce some of the hangup issues when doing a restart associated with the older Azalia audio drivers (as I believe this is one of them).
I saw some references from UnaClocker in other posts that got me googling
Go here for reference:

Download and install chud 4.6.1 (so you don't need to install the Apple Developer Tools):

Download and install AzaliaAudio.pkg:
Download and install (drag the unzipped file to your Applications or Utilities folder) Audieee 1.0.1:
You want to have Audieee 1.0.1 run automatically at startup for this all to work properly, so I would suggest going to System Preferences, Accounts, username, Login Items, then drag the Audieee application from wherever you saved the file previously (Applications or Utilities) into the Login Items window.
That's it, you're done. Sound should now work after resuming from sleep. I believe the reason sound doesn't work with the newer driver(s?) is the way the autosensing stuff works (Una put me on the path to find this "solution" when he was referring to the reggie_se stuff in another post. Thanks Una!). I for one would be thrilled if somebody could figure out how to get the Headphones output working when you choose it from the drop down in Audieee, as well as microphone input working for Skype, etc. For now this works for me. I'd gladly give up autosensing to have sound fully working when resuming from sleep! Hopefully this takes us one step further so somebody smarter than me can pick this up from here nail this issue. I think if we had the equivalent of the driver that comes on the latest DellMiniBoot123v6, but without autosensing enabled, perhaps that would do it.

Well, thanks for testing that. I thought I saw something about how the driver needed to do something when switching from headphones to speakers that didn't reload/reinitialize after sleep properly. I saw this over on a EEE PC forum I believe. They have some commands to run that will supposedly reinitialize sound after sleep (for the EEE PC, not the Mini9). Since the old drivers worked, it seemed like a possibility... I wish I understood this stuff better. It seems like we are so close! The fact that an ancient driver works resuming from sleep gives me hope. Perhaps I'll have more time over the next day or two to read up more and experiment. Glad to see the forums back online!
