Waking + Using ur 2nd Mac via 10v - 01-02-2010, 04:14 PM
abyssoft - teleport
"teleport lets you use a single mouse and keyboard to control several Macs. Simply reach an edge of your screen, and your mouse teleports to your nearby Mac, which also becomes controlled by your keyboard. The pasteboard can be synchronized, and you can even drag & drop files between your Macs."
i think there are probably other ways to do this but thought it worth mentioning because teleport is very useful for controlling two Macs with the same keyboard and mouse. handy if ur 10v is ur second smaller Mac. what's really good though is one of it's implications...
if ur Mac is asleep it can wake it up. so with me i have a Mac Pro which has Teleport installed and always activated but is most of the time set to sleep. when i'm on my 10v, and i want to remotely control the MP (i.e. look at files etc.) i just activate teleport on the 10v and swipe to the side and hey presto, it's awake. you have to make sure that you've got sharing permissions set via the Sharing pref pane in System Prefs. And when ur finished u can put your other mac to sleep via the screen-sharing. very cool!
