NetbookBootMaker / NetbookInstaller .8.3 Final is now available and has been posted on the Google Code project page.

Installation Instructions :

1. Restore OSX DVD (10.5.x or 10.6) to USB drive
2. Run NetbookBootMaker (this version) to patch the USB
3. Make sure Legacy USB is enabled in BIOS (for booting from USB)
4. Boot Mini (9 or 10v) to patched Install USB [note, if "pinwheel of death" appears... wait up to 10 minutes. if not, reboot to USB]
5. Install OSX 10.5.x, OSX 10.6.x or upgrade from 10.5.x to 10.6
6. Once the installation has completed remove your USB drive and reboot
7. Enjoy OSX on your Mini!

[let me remind you that it is always a good idea to check/repair permissions after any OS upgrade. you can do this with Disk Utility or applications such as OnyX]

Upgrade Instructions :

1. Download the NetbookInstaller .8.3 Final
   
2. Run NBI .8.3 Final using the options you prefer
3. Reboot your Mini

Remember to always run NBI after any major OSX update!

Remember to report any and all bugs you encounter to the Google Code bug tracker. This allows us to track issues with NetbookInstaller and keep up on fixing any bugs.

(It is extremely hard to remember bugs reported on the forums and is nearly impossible to keep up with all of the discussions. The forums are a great place to discuss problems and talk with other members about possible fixes, but you should always submit a bug report so that your issues are not overlooked)

Hi,

i just ran 0.8.3 over 0.8.3 rc5 and now mini is in the reboot loop. I guess I was not supposed to upgrade this way. Any way i can fix it or do i need to reinstall everything? Thanks for help!

I cannot boot anymore with this bootmaker
I just see "boot0: error" on boot screen

Ran 0.8.3Final over 0.8.3RC4 on 10V with SL10.6.2. After reboot, it gets into a endless loop like previous posts. Was able to recover by running installation USB with 0.8.3RC4 and reinstalling 0.8.3RC4 with Netbootinstaller.

Had success with installing NetbookInstaller 0.8.3alpha over 0.8.3RC4.

Prep old install USB with NetbookBootMaker 0.8.3alpha --> install USB will not boot.

I have installed the updated 0.8.3 directly from Mac to SSD/HDD. I don't have reboot loop anymore, mini seems to be starting but then gets stuck on the apple and pin wheel screen. The same happens in the safe mode. Please advise. Thanks!

in verbose mode the boot process stops at the message "SMC is stuck and cannot recover". Hope it helps.

Everyone, please redownload the software, it has been fixed and will be able to repair any damage that was done before. I had to use it myself to fix my bootloader. It works this time.
