I'm a fan of Picasa, but once you're a few months into using one or another choice switching becomes a huge chore.

Yes, I've used Ardour (didn't care for it)...I wasn't so much looking for a DAW (I uses Reaper for that now anyway and no, it's not free but DEFINITELY worth paying for!) as a highly customizable synth engine to run exclusively on the Mini 10. I do all my "studio" mixing on the G5 with Reaper; I'm using a Mini 9 & 10 as filter/synth engines in the signal route from the processor racks. That way I can have a dedicated Kore Player + synth engine and a dedicated environment for running bidule with custom delays, reverbs, and looping.
