Use the card. It's likely fine going by what you mentioned. If it doesn't work, you're only out time. The computer won't be bricked if the boot media doesn't work right, it just won't boot or will crash. I'd prep the USB stick when you get it so you don't have to wait for hours if the CF doesn't work though.

thanks. i'll prep the USB Flash Drive and if it goes perfectly i will use that. i guess if it works what's the point of trying the CF method right? and if i don't prep it then if the CF doesn't work i'll be sitting around for ages anyway.
