Default Clarification required for NetbookInstaller Method 2: USB Mac Installation via Any Op - 11-30-2009, 01:50 PM

I ordered my Dell mini 10v today and have been reading the guides to prepare for my installation of Snow Leopard.

I don't have a mac, I think the only installation method available if you don't have a mac is:

NetbookInstaller Method 2: USB Mac Installation via Any Operating System

http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-...ng-system.html

The post has been updated with a link to the mechdrew website:

NetbookInstaller 2: USB Mac Installation via Any Operating System | Guides | OS X | mechdrew

On the updated mechdrew website instructions, I need some clarification on step 8. In the bold it says some people with windows 7 are having difficulty getting the image to copy over. Then under this there is an indented instruction on checking dd --list and typing in a volume command. I just want to clarify if we first type the command on line 1 of step 8 ("dd bs=1M if=C:\NBI_083RC3.img of=\\.\PhysicalDrive#") and if we don't get any problems go straight to step 9 and we only do the extra indented instructions about the volume if we get an error.

Thanks for your help
