Hey all,

Probably a stupid question--I shouldn't need to run "Fix Bluetooth" in NBI in order to use a bluetooth dongle, should I? That's just for the internal card, right?

I just got a bluetooth dongle that works fine with Ubuntu, but on my 10.5.8 hackintosh, it gets stuck when I try to transfer over a file.

It seems like this is most likely an issue with the dongle, but I just thought I'd cover all my bases.

Correcto-mundo. That fix, as I understand it, addresses the manufacturer code in in OSX and tweaks BT so that it will recognize the internal card. Not sure about those outboard jobs.

got a cheapo BT dongle as well, any generic OSX drivers I can use. I really like it due to its size (Smaller than a penny) but doesn't work with OSX

Even with a USB BT dongle, I needed to run the BT terminal fix (see link in my sig). You need to find the correct Product ID and Vendor ID and change those in the appropriate Info.plst file. Again, see the thread linked below.
