I don't know about you guys, but I'm not terribly worried about this for now. I'm sure we'll have a nice, usable workaround eventually.

I am unsticking this thread, since OSX 10.6.2 is out on Software Update now and does break Atom support. Now we are patiently waiting for a fix.
