i used the one from insanely mac the 2nd post.

heres a brief guide on what i did :

1.on real mac opened disk utility erased external hd as GUID and mac os extended journaled.

2. hit the restore tab and dragged my snow leopard dvd into source and dragged one of my external partitions into the other white box. restore then takes a little while....

3.install chameleon on BOTH partitions 1 and 2. drag the extra, boot and dsdt file onto the usb install partition and partition 2.

4.boot up mini 1010 hit f12 bootloader comes on hit mac osx install dvd that should boot install it to the other partition.

5. reboot select the partition you just installed os x to os x should boot

and to install os x to internal drive install superduper copy everything to internal drive(assuming youve deleted everything). install chameleon on internal drive and you can reboot and remove the external drive

if you need help when installing kexts give me a shout

Thanks! The superduper, did you install that to the external?

presuming you did, use diskutility to erase the internal, and then copy all to internal?

The kext install should be okay, just drag all to kexthelper right?

yeah its a program that once you have installed os x to an external hd it copies it to the internal drive instead

It's 3 posts above... You need to just start, it makes sence if you get to each step....

Mine has been installing OSX on the external for close to 45 minutes, and I really had to get to work (where I am right now ), so will update again tonight.

If I get it to work, I will write a full how to incl. screen shots. (So hopefully this weekend...

Finally, I was able to run the setup! haha! I "restored" the SL img to the 1st partition of my external hd and planned to install it on the second partition. Apparently, I need to change it to GUID from MBR in order to install OSX to the second partition. BUt if I did that, I think my method of installing will not work. (I manually installed chameleon and ripped the installer partition from the image using hfsexplorer) The only way I think to install it is to use a separate 8GB USB to "restore" the image. Any other ways?

Is there any way to install chameleon to a GUID type of partitioning?

i'm copying using superduper now. After this, I'll install the Chameleon, and see what happens. I don't want to remove the dell restore partition, but do want to se the rest of the disk for OSX.

Any hints on how to do that?

[edit]

it booted from internal HD!!!!
Excellent work guys, really, realy apreciated!!

What works; all, except network, can't get internet going, and screen resolution sucks..

I've installed the kexts, but on reboot, OSC hangs. Firm press of powerbutton seems like the only solution..

but I'll keep playing with it!

[/edit]

[re-edit]

after installing .kext files, and not being able to reboot, I now get the "turn power off by pressing button" screen again on booting OSX....

I'm reboting from usb to see if I can re-copy the partition...

removed sleepenabler.kext, but again, the "press power to shut down" message on boot.

No network if I don't install.
It's progress, but not there yet....
