@darylzero
Can you post some screenshots of your system? I'd love to see them. Also, what's the BIOS version of your mini 10?

Thank you... can't wait to see it. If you can, also try to make a tutorial for us.

I was reading ryuu123's thread... and saw his IOGMA500Framebuffer. Have you tried it?

If I check Dell, I can only find bios A04... Where did you get A11?

Are we even using the same Mini 10? (and no, I do not use the 10v :P )

[edit]

I just check dell.com (instead of Dell.nl) and there I get the A11 bios. would that be the issue? I don't just want to update a bios, for a model that might not be exactly the same as mine. Can you inform me if I can update to this bios, or what your exact model is? Mine is bought through webshop, and delivered in Holland (europe)...

This is what I done thanks to Meklort's great job on the Netbook Bootmaker and Darylzero's file. I had made a comparison of the kexts used and have done some trial and error and found I need only the following two kexts from Darylzero to make it work on Dell Mini 12 with Netbook Bootmaker: VAIOPEnabler.kext and AppleIntelPIIXATA.kext. I do think it will work on Dell Mini 10 as well.

1. Download the latest Netbook Bootmaker 0.8.3RC4. Right click to browse through the contents.

2. Find the contents->resource->supportfiles->machine-> General->extensions folder. Put the two kext files from Darylzero into this folder.

Edit: Dell Mini 10 works exactly the same. Can't get sleep and audio to work...

3. Find the RealtekR1000.kext from contents->resource->supportfiles->machine->Dell Mini 10v ->extensions folder and copy it to the extensions folder in step 2.

4. Close all folders.

5. Use this modified Netbook Bootmaker 0.8.3RC4 to prepare the USB drive and run through the guide.

6. When you need to run Netbookinstaller, do not download it. Use the one in your application folder after the installation is complete on your HDD/SSD. This NetbookInstaller will have the right extensions to work on Mini 12 and most likely Mini 10.

In fact, Meklort has told about the ways to add a new model to the NetbookInstaller somewhere but it wasn't clear to me how exactly to do it right. This quick hack will work on Dell Mini 12 but will also make the NetbookInstaller "not clean" for Dell Mini 9 and Mini 10v. You should go back to the original version if you need to install Dell Mini 9 and Mini 10v. Hope Meklort can help add Dell Mini 12 to the formal version of NetbookInstaller later.

So what does not work? Sleep does not work for me. I cannot get audio to work with either Mini 9 or Mini 10v drivers from NetbookInstaller. I believe VoodooHDA.kext will work like VAIO P guys told but I haven't tried it yet. I can only get resolution to work up to 1024x768. I believe it is a VBIOS limitation as ?video gives the list which does not have 1280x800 modes. If you are aware of an older BIOS that supports 1280x800 VESA mode, pls let me know. I think you will have better luck with Mini 10. I will come back to report further if I got the chance to try on a Mini 10 from a friend. Keep fingers crossed...
