Is it possible to do 1280x800? This is what I needed for Mini 12. Appreciate if you can help.

Sure, although you should be able to set 1280x800 already (it's a standard resolution) by setting the graphics mode manually (You can test it out by typing "Graphics Mode"="1280x800x32" at the boot prompt (with quotes)).

Right now I'm working on the auto detection code, but I'll post something later
today if I don't have that working by then. The auto detection code will detect the native resolution of your monitor and use it by default, instead of assuming 1024x768 which chameleon currently assumes if you don't specify a graphics mode.

Lot's going on in this thread.... Any chance that one of you that have been successful have an updated complete guide for the mini10 with the resolution fix, sound fix, etc. I admit I'm a moron and need the step by step instructions.

Incase anyone is interested I tested parallels today on my mini 10 running snow leopard and if ran windows 7 pretty okay certainly useable anyway! Tried Ilife aswell everything works apart from garageband being too big for the screen and Iphoto not allowing full screen editing.

Also Is it possible for us mini 10'ers to get our own Dell mini 10 os x thread now its proven to work etc? This little thread has become slightly overgrown!!!

Default Wireless - 12-05-2009, 08:49 PM

Just got a Mini 10, Bios is @ A11, installed 10.6 and upgraded to 10.6.2. I have tried the bcm43xx_enabler.sh script, every dsdt.aml file on this list, and DSDTPatcherGui_1.0 and it just does not work, no airport icon, no network devices, nothing.. It worked fine under the base install of XP that it came with. Anybody have any other ideas?

try this : drag the broadcom text from system/extensions/IO8221.kext/contents/plugins brodacom kext and drag it to the root of your drive then do the normal terminal sudo and drag the bcm43xx script into that. Thats how i got it working. Post back your results let me know what happens

Dragged the AppleAirPortBrcm4311.kext to the root of the drive and ran the bcm43xx_enabler.sh -- still a no go..

don't have bluetooth showing up either.. Think maybe the chip is disabled?

Drexon.

Edit: Turns out I have the Dell Wireless 1520 Super N card. Anybody know if this is supported under OSX? Having a hard time finding information on it.

New changes to chameleon.

It'll now (try) to detect the optimal resolution for your screen, although it has almost zero error checking in it (and it assumes the first resolution it finds is the best). Tested and works on ym 10v, so it should let the mini 12 and 10 both work. I haven't set it to assume the determined resolution is the best, it only patches the video bios, so you may need to specify the graphics mode in the plist / boot prompt (you can look at the video mode option at the chameleon boot screen to determine if it worked right).

For anyone who wants the source, I've uploaded my local copy here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/863180/chame....0-RC3-nbi.zip

Default No internal HDD - 12-06-2009, 12:46 PM

Hello all,

first thanks for all the effort put into this.
Seems to be working but I'm stuck on my external usb drive. I don't see it when i want to copy everything to the internal drive. Tried the diskutility tool to see it but nothing. Went in to terminal and tried "diskutil list" and still nothing. In Ubuntu i see everything.
Anybody an idea??

Thanks,
Tomm
