Hi all,

Due to a series of events with installing a RunCore upgrade, my previously inactive BIOS setting for hard drive password is now active, although with no password set. Basically, the RunCore arrived with an active password set on it, which triggered the BIOS to turn the feature on, which is now permanent.

Any incompatibilities that we're aware of with this and Netbook Installer? Anyone else out there legitimately using a password on their hard drive and have successfully installed OS X with Netbook Installer?

I have installed OSX just fine with the hard drive
password on. I wish I knew how to turn it off.

I had no problem installing it.

You turn it off in the BIOS.

Actually, the problem on the Mini 9 at least is that you can clear the password (so that there's no password on your hard drive), but once the hard drive password setting itself has been turned on, it's permanent.

So, given that NetbookInstaller and OS X is a bit titchy with the BIOS settings, I'm curious (and glad to see from the previous post) that it will work OK once this feature is activated.
