a "installing osx using any os" guide should be added to the site, oh and about the cds, i like being up to date ^^

Would it be possible for syslinux to make nbcd on a usb bootable?

i got an idea! restoring the iso via os x disk util or transmac on windows

I've thought about it. I will probably format the guide from my site (linked in original post) for the MyDellMini guides sections this weekend.

Nope, tried that before. It doesn't know what to do with the files. I haven't been too interested in investigating syslinux because we don't really need it for anything.

Nice idea, but it wouldn't work. Don't worry, I'll be working on a USB disk image for Windows/Linux users next. Just not sure how Linux users will get the DVD image to a flash drive.

Hello.
I tried NCD 1.0. but I have a problem.

1) Booting NetbookCD.
2) Bring up a NCD's Chameleon.
3) Insert SL Install DVD, press F5.
4) select Mac OS X Install DVD. press Enter.
5) I got kernel panic on my mini9:
panic(cpu 0 caller 0x2e727459): "Unsupported CPU: family = 0x6, model = 0x1c, stepping =0x2"@/SourceCache/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement-90/pmProcessor.c:210
Debugger called: <panic>
Backtrace (CPU 0), Frame : Return Address (4 potential args on stack)
[...]

Environment:
Mini 9, 2GB RAM, SSD 16GB
SL retail dvd
NetbookCD 1.0 Final

BIOS: A05
USB BIOS Legacy Support: Enabled
USB Wake from Sleep: Disabled

Is there any solution? thanks.

First, are you certain you are using the correct NCD? There are two variants.
Second, have you tried the disconnect trick in between the disc swap?
Third, Rhaegar, can you confirm that you have the same specs as listed by DSuzuki in the second half of his post?

Finally, if you are willing, you can try the old test version of NCD, which is known to work. Download it here.

1. Yes, I'm using the correct NCD, it says "Snow Leopard" on the bootloader screen.

2. I tried the disconnect trick, and I just got a load of EFBIOS(or something similar) errors.

3. Yes, I have the same configuration, the only difference is that I have a 32GB supertalent SSD.

4. I'm trying the older version now... and it seems to be working! It's currently on the install phase

Incidentally, thank you for taking the time to answer us, Mechdrew - I know you're not paid to do this, and the work you and other folks are doing to make stuff like this possible is awesome.

Default Thanks MechDrew - 10-11-2009, 12:47 PM

Thanks MechDrew - I had the same problem myself (kernel panic). The old version worked for me as well. You should put up a donate link on your site
