Default Fastest way to migrate from 10.5.8 to 10.6.1 (on Mini9)? - 10-04-2009, 04:41 PM

it seems that a fresh installation with the latest Netbookinstaller isn't a problem anymore and works.

I wonder which process the best is to get my good 10.5.8 installation upgraded to 10.6.1

If possible i would prefer installing it as an upgrade then rather doing a fresh install.

I have an default Mini 9 with Bluetooth and 32 GB Runcore SSD (and 2 GB RAM).

I did an upgrade myself initially. I had a few issues with DellEFI not playing well with the new NBM/NBI and just last night did a fresh install.

I was not happy with the SL upgrade before, but it is much better as a clean install. It takes the same amount of time either way.

It took about 35 minutes, after reformatting the drive and de-selecting the printers, language packs, etc. I installed Rosetta and Quicktime 7.

My only minor annoyance is the track pad driver included with this version, I had been using version 18 with 2 finger scroll before, it worked much better for me.

The audio is great, and the next version should allow the use of headphones, which will be nice, although I don't use them often.
