Default Hardware question about Macbook Pro - 09-24-2009, 05:32 PM

Hi all. Can somebody please explain to me the difference between mini dvi and mini displayport? I would like to purchase a cable that will connect a new macbook pro to a LCD projector. The mini dvi to vga cable is much cheaper and was thinking of purchasing that but I'm not really sure if it's compatible? Thanks for any help.

The latest Macs all use Mini Displayport... it is a completely different type of connector

Go to monoprice for your cables... they have great quality and are cheap. I have easily bought 30 cables from them, all great quality. From CAT6, to SATAII, to DVI, HDMI, XBox360 VGA cable, optical audio, etc etc etc.
