Is mirroring the standard mode normally?
I connected my Mini 10v with SL 10.6.1, NBI 0.83 RC1, RC2 and RC3 already to about 5 or 6 different external displays and TVs over the last 2 weeks.
It always used the extended mode instead of mirroring after pluggin in, so no problems so far.
And about fullscreen movie playback:
iTunes, Frontrow and VLC work at least if you set the external display as the primary screen.
And for presentations with keynote:
Didn't test it on the 10v yet.
But normally extented mode is way better here, as you can get the "moderator monitor" on one display
(with preview of the next page and so on...),
while using the other for showing the presentation.
