I'm not sure if this is a terminal problem or what. does the cursor move when you type a password? Where can I set one?

It was root password issues. I fixed that, made the changes, and now my computer doesnt come back from sleep.

Can anyone paste their file text to me? I am unclear on what to delete. The WHOLE file, just what was visible? Could I have deleted too much?

I tried this and it did not work. Did you just install it with Kext Helper b7.app and that was it? Anything else you did to get it to work? Did you have to install sleep watcher also?

I just put it in /Extra and ran update extra. Kext helper inst necessary for any kext additions done on the minis and there's less risk of complications using the /Extra directory.

I did uninstall sleepwatcher after I installed Verbhelper.kext, but I ended up reinstalling because sound would work about 90% of the time after sleep, but still would, on occasion, disappear after sleep.

Thank you so much. This worked perfectly. I moved Verbhelper.kext from the main extensions directory to /Extra, ran update extra, rebooted and voila.... sound after sleep. Simple as that. Appreciate the help very much.

Ok, I spoke too soon. This worked the first few few times I slept the 10v briefly, but after a longer sleep it did not work anymore. No sound after sleep once again. So I uninstalled Verbhelper.kext and installed sleepwatcher.

Sleepwatcher works, sort of. I do get sound after sleep but the keyboard shortcuts don't actually make the sound louder or softer, it stays the same. Same thing with the icon on the menu bar. And just as weird, the 2 are not synched anymore. Trying to raise or lower the volume with either one does not change the other anymore. The only way to actually adjust the volume after sleep is by using the output volume slider in system preferences. Very strange.

Other than this the 10v works very well with OS X. Does anyone have any thoughts about how to get this working better? Should I use both Verbhelper.kext and Sleepwatcher? Is anyone else having these issues? While not a showstopper, it is very annoying and I would really like to get it to work correctly. Thanks for any help.

Upgrade to netbook installer rc3 which includes the newer verbhelper.kext and continue to use sleepwatcher. I've had 100% sound after sleep reliability over the course of a few days now.

edit: oh wait, i just realized you're still using leopard (or your sig is out of date). The new verbhelper.kext was a recompile for snow leopard and shouldn't help your specific issues. I'd still do the above as it'll install the correct verbhelper for leopard. Sorry for the confusion.

I was never able to get sound after sleep to work reliability, even with sleepwater while i was using leopard. I've had better luck with snow leopard.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll probably upgrade to Snow Leopard at some point but for now I'm sticking with Leopard. The Sleepwatcher method seems to be the best but it is still hit or miss. What I've found is that if the 10v sleeps for a long time that's when the audio seems to not work correctly much of the time. If I then put it to sleep for 30 seconds and wake it right up most times it works correctly after that. I haven't reinstalled verbhelper.kext as I can't see any benefit to using that plus sleepwatcher. For now this will have to be good enough, until I upgrade to Snow Leopard. Oh, and one other thing is that after it wakes up from sleep the system sounds don't work anymore. But that's minor and I can easily live with that. Thanks again for your input, Shines On, you were very helpful.
