I got the sound working, but now the resolution is stuck on 800x600 and I have no working wifi.

I now have everything working. Some quick tips if some of you guys are running into trouble:

-If you are unable to open the Extensions folder, try to fix disk permissions in Disk Utility.
-If you boot into a lower resolution screen without Wifi after doing the install (and you know that you transferred all the kexts over correctly), try to redo the NetBookInstaller steps. This time, reinstall Chameleon RC3, hide the install files, and disable the hibernation files. This will allow you to boot back into the normal settings. After this step, you should no longer have working sound, but the resolution and wifi will be back to normal.
-Retransfer the kexts from the zip file over to the Mini9 extra file. Make sure that all the other kexts have been transferred over and run the kext updater.

However after I doubled click on VoodooHDA.prefPan, click oK on the confirmation screen. Then I got this error message

Error
Can't get registry-entry path

Any idea?
When you copy it over, you are just making the icon. Proceed with the rest of the steps and you should be fine. I got the same error message.

For anybody that has the preference pane error did the preference pane still function anyways after completing everything? If so, the issue is only cosmetic but may have come from the installation sequence. If that is the case, installing the preference pane after updating the kexts may make the preference pane installation error go away.

I ran through this twice. Thought I had done everything right first time but still no sound and kept getting same registry error trying to open VoodooHDA pref panel. Maybe because it was 2 AM when I first tried... anyway everything else was working on 10.6.1, including sleep. So I gave up, and I went to sleep.

Reran NetBookIntsaller 0.8.2, re-ran disk permissions, and CAREFULLY, CAREFULLY followed these instructions again. Only changed the sequence to run the Voodoo pref panel until after running update extensions. Second time the charm. I have audio, I have sleep, I have the VooDoo pref panel... I have a very SWEET mini 9 running Snow Leopard 10.6.1!!!! And by the way- I have nearly 6GB more available on my 32 GB RunCore SSD now than my wife's identical Mini 9 which is running 10.5.8. And that's not because she has loaded her machine with data.

Thanks to all who have contributed. If you're a net-consumer (like me!) instead of a net-contributor to this whole process, please consider making a donation to the guys who did the REAL work.

First, I would like to say thanks to JGene for the excellent tutorial. I am wondering if anyone is hearing a hissing sound very low coming from the speakers? Very similar to sound issues that we were having about a year ago when we all started getting our mini’s and turning them into mini hackbooks. It is more than likely something that I did as I just upgraded my mini 9 installation from Leopard 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard 10.6 (then software update 10.6.1).

The probability that it may be in fact the problem stems from the upgrade process itself (and my laziness’ to do a fresh install) which problems could arise for example, but may not be the cause I had been using the old sound source app in Leopard 10.5.8 from here-> Rogue Amoeba | Freebies: Free software for Mac OS X <-which was very useful. But I removed before using the new voodooHDA.prefPane.

Sorry to make this so long and jumping around to causes but I would like to know if anyone else is hearing the very slight hissing sound as well before I do a complete fresh installation to remedy my issues as I would hate to start from scratch just to still be where I am at this point.

Again, thank you JGene and this community that have made this all possible. I have been enjoying my mini 9 for a year now running leopard just wondering if it is my installation and should start anew.

I have tried to download the audiokexts.zip but I get a 24KB zip that when I try to unzip become .tgz. I have tried to unzip with different programs but some say it is corrupted. Any idea? I don't know where to find them. Thanks very much.
