I thought this would be an appropriate thread for the Mac OSX Development section of the forums so that the developers are aware of the current official version of NetbookBootMaker & NetbookInstaller.

These "final releases" are no longer release candidates yet are still considered betas. (For example, NetbookInstaller .8.2a is considered a final release while .8.3RCx is not)

Most of the development and testing efforts are put into the non-official releases (which is why their discussion belongs in this section of the forum, where the die-hard testers live on the bleeding-edge).


The Current Official Version of NBM/NBI is .8.3 Final

Any version newer than this is under development and older than this is considered obsolete

The Current Testing Version of NBM/NBI is ____________________________

(**any version of DellEFI is obsolete and deprecated**)

For those needing to use an external USB DVD drive, use the new NetbookCD method.

I did not really intend for this thread to be a discussion... it is simply a sticky thread keeping users up-to-date about the current versions so they know which is the most current "stable" release and which are in testing and development.

The discussions in this thread are off-topic and do not belong here, since they do not relate to the announcement.
