Under 10.5.8, I successfully got my IOGear USB BT
adapter to work including on/off, iPhone pairing & tethering. I have done the same mods under 10.6, including repairing permissions and updating my /System/Library/Extensions.mkext using the kextcache commands I found on the InsanelyMac
forum, since it doesn't seem to be automatically rebuilt it on shutdown the way it does in 10.5.8. (I have been reluctant to use "fix bluetooth" in NetbookInstaller tools, since it's not clear whether that part has been updated to include the terminal mod since DellEFI 1.2a5. And, I have a non-standard BT
But, now I can't pair with my iPhone anymore. In fact, it doesn't even see the phone in the initial BT
setup scan - I need to plug in the BT
MAC address just to get it to try and pair. Also the on/off checkbox in the BT
Prefs is greyed out again. Is my method of rebuilding Extensions.mkext the wrong one?
