Default How to install the original XP Bootloader? - 09-03-2009, 05:28 AM

Hello,

After I deinstalled OSX because I had problems with it, I can not boot to my windows.

How can I restore the original boot loader from windows xp?
I dont have a CD Hard Drive, can I restore it with a USB-Stick?

Thank you..

Hi

You need some additional tools to download to get it working properly. I followed these instructions: Installing Microsoft Windows XP from usb device (usb-stick, usb-hdd, SD card) simpler method [EeeUser Eee PC Wiki] (method 1).

NOTE I had no luck using the Dell XP disc, it installed but would not boot. I had an original SP3 retail disc which worked perfectly though.
