Default Recover osx password - 08-27-2009, 12:18 PM

I bought last week a second hand mini 9 in a small shop in Tokyo. The seller told me that Ubuntu was installed but when I came back home, I realized that it was mac osx 10.5.6.
At first I thought it was ok but when I tried to install some drivers or applications, it asked me for a password and of course I don't know it. I phoned the shop but he told me that he doesn't know also.

I googled the problem and found some stuff but it doesn't work. I can't get the dell mini 9 to boot on my leopard disc or getting in user mode by pressing command+S.

Do you know a way to get the password or define a new one without reinstalling everything?

Thank you

P.S: Yes I bought a retail version of leopard

No need to do a fresh install. You can reset the password using the retail disc.

Hook up your USB DVD drive, boot up as if you were going to do a fresh install, run utilities in the menu, and reset your password.

Sorry if that is too overly simplified, I am assuming you have a DVD drive and the resources to make a boot USB thumb drive or DVD.
