Uhm... if I am not mistaken, Quicktime does Full Screen on the standard version (Simple Command-F keyboard shortcut). The only reason for Quicktime pro is if you have multiple displays and want to present the movie in Full Screen on your secondary display, etc etc.
And +1 for Perian. Works for 720p .mkv here as well.
