Default Sleep problem - 08-15-2009, 04:59 PM

Hi folks
First off I must apologise if this has been asked many times before but I have searched the old posts and nothing quite matches the problem, I am having.

My Dell mini 9 running 10.5.7 doesn't like to sleep when it's supposed to.
If I close the lid the display goes off but the machine stays active and the power light does not pulse indicating sleep. If I leave it like this for any length of time, upon opening it again I can't get the display back up and have to do a forced power down and re-start.
Choosing sleep from the menu only works if the unit is on battery only.

Any one got any ideas?

Hi noob1
I just checked and it was disabled, I have re-enabled it but no real change. Another odd thing that seems to happen is that closing the screen, waiting a few seconds and then re-opening it slightly - no more than 2 cm - seems to make it go to sleep.

Thanks for your help

ive got the exact same problem with my dell mini 9..

10.5.7 dell efi.. weird thing is that it worked before.. but somehow it got lost.. ive tried the latest chameleon, lost most functionality(mouse for example) but sleep seemed to work.

if i close, then immediately open it up again, it goes to sleep.. but only if i close the programs im running.. its not consistent..

i dont know where to begin.. im not sure how to get the latest chameleon running, with all the functionality intact..

besides the sleeping problem it seems to work great.. big kudos to all the hard work of the community...
