Default rEFIt and netbookinstaller - 08-13-2009, 04:16 PM

hello all, I just wanted to see if any one knew if I could do this or if netbookinstaller had a similar feature like rEFIt

I just got my mini9 back from service and was going to install osx again, however I wanted to make a small "instant on" linux partition as well as the full osx install.

I use rEFIt on my MBP and I am pretty happy with it, does netbookinstaller have a boot option like rEFIt and if so can someone tell me about it, if it does not, will installing rEFIt cause problems?

Thanks for any answers

You cannot install rEFIt on the dell mini. rEFIt requires EFI firmware which does not exist on the minis.

NetbookInstaller uses Chameleon 2, which can load other bootloaders by chainloading them, so in that way you can install grub or lilo on your linux partition and have chameleon chainload that. Alternately, you could have grub chainload chameleon.
