Default SD Card & video? - 08-12-2009, 12:57 PM

Loving my Mini9 install of OS X. Working perfectly!

If I buy a large SD card, will the access times be fast enough so that I can watch videos purchased through iTunes on it?

Many thanks,

I dunno how fast the card reader is on a Mini 9 with OSX. But in general, even a slow SD card will have a high enough read speed for compressed video (even BluRay quality).

I use my SDHC card for this regularly. Standard Def has no issues. Even High Def (720P) is adequate considering that it has to scale it.

I use a Transcend SDHC 16GB class 6 on my mini. I watch video (SD mostly) stored on it all the time with no problems.

looks like i am the only one that has had problems with this... i dont think my videos are HD (30 minute avi is usually under 250mb) and it seems to stall for a few seconds ever 2 minutes or so... so i have been forced to keep the videos on my SD card (16 gb sandisk ultra II class 4) then move them over to the ssd when i want to watch them and afterwords delete it to keep space free. i have never formatted it any differently than how it came out of the package - are there any tips you recommend to make these sufficient for watching video? any help is appreciated and i apologize if this has been covered in another thread... thanks
