Default Cannot Select Drive in NetBookInstaller after 10.5.8 Update - 08-10-2009, 06:20 AM

After performing the incremental OS X 10.5.8 update I attempted to run NetBookInstaller 0.8.1 to reset everything and make sure that my Mini 10v had all of its ducks in the right rows only to discover that I no longer could select a hard drive to modify. I tried running version 0.8.0 and found the same problem to be true.

I don't want to run DellEFI 1.2a5 because it will load the drivers for the Mini 9 and the video driver will be just incorrect enough that Front Row and a few other programs will either not function properly or will refuse to run at all.

The only problem that I am having with my 10v after the 10.5.8 update is that it no longer goes to sleep and wakes up automatically with the closing and opening of the screen. It does work by selecting from Apple menu or pressing the power button and selecting sleep from the pop up dialogue box.

This is a known bug, there is a new (alpa release) of NetbookInstaller 0.8.2 out at the google code website which fixes this problem.

Anyone tried the new alpha yet? 8.2? For install of OSX
I would also be interested to know if anyone has patched to 10.5.8 with it?

I'm currently on 10.5.7, installed with NetBookInstaller 8.1. Now that there appears to be a solid fix for the power options problem in 10.5.8, I'm considering trying the update this weekend, after which I will use the 8.2 alpha version to reinstall the hackintosh bits. Of course I'll make sure I have a current Time Machine backup and my NetBookInstaller boot/install flash drive handy in case it all turns to poop.

Thinking of trying Dropbox? Use this referal link and we'll both get an extra 250MB of storage.
