Cool Mini 9 with OS X - Which SD card to use for file storage? - 08-08-2009, 02:37 AM

I just finished installing 10.5.8, using Iantzn's Mac to RunCore guide. Worked perfectly (the second time...).

I have a 32gb RunCore, 2GB Crucial Memory, the rest is the stock Mini 9 from the $199 sale a couple weeks ago.

I'd like to get a SD card to use for file storage (particularly for moving video to the Mini for watching on a flight).

Have folks here found a recommended brand/speed/max size?

I'd like 4GB or more...will SDHC cards work?

Thanks to everyone for a great site!

Currently using an 8GB so yeah SDHC works, I've seen 16gbs on Newegg and amazon for around $30 or so with shipping.

There are really expensive SDHC cards that are much, much faster than others, but if you're only moving stuff around occasionally, speed shouldn't be too much of an issue. I have a Kensington Class 4 SDHC and it works fine for semi-regular syncs between two machines.

I agree with the Kingsington 16 gB SDHC Drives. I use them for media (iTunes/EyeTV/...). The speed is resonable. A Mini-9 is not a Mac Book Pro, so there is a speed difference, but I find them very usable.
