No, just as long as the RAM you put in is a DDR2 533/677/800MHz SO-DIMM then it should be fine.
Normally, when a computer fails POST (Power On Self Test) with a long beep, with no video then it means a RAM failure. Reseat (take the RAM out then put it back in, carefully) and try again. If it still beeps, then try the RAM that came with it. If that doesn't work, then your netbook is borked at the lowest levels of the system, which only a motherboard replacement would fix.
Also, try not to just put 'Help!!!!' in the title of your post; it makes it much harder to quickly sort out since 'Help!!!!' could relate to anything.
