I'm not too sure about this, but my battery life has also dropped fairly significantly since applying 10.5.8. I have a feeling that the machine is stuck in the full power mode that it would be when powered by the adapter. As others have said, this doesn't seem to be a gauge issue, but something deeper. No idea how to fix it though, I'm still learning OS X!

2menders
All you needis:1. DSDT with working HPET
2. AppleSMBIOS.kext (from my post)
3. Working AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext (not Disabled or deleted)
4. Update system by ComboUpdate, not Software update - not all power control components updated by Software Update.

For sleep work you need USB EHCI fix (by VoodooEHCI for example), working Audio (by stock AppleHDA), and comboupdated system.

To be honest, I'm not a pro. Should it be possible to explain the steps a little bit more? (For example: 'what it's a working HPET..')
Thanks!

tea, thanks for suggestion. I love like to know the root cause ( yes, I understand DSDT ACPI and etc).

It seems that you have old AppleSMBIOS.kext (maybe hacked), I wonder if (SMBIOSResolver + chameleon v1) or (chameleon v2 + smbios.plist) can achieve the same goal. Thanks,

I just installed the AppleSMBIOS.kext file that tea provided on my 10v using KextHelper and it worked!!! I now have a fully working battery meter!

However the 'Energy Saver' panel now just shows a drop down to select settings for 'Battery' or 'Power Adaptor' and the ability to change to optimization for each. I am sure I used to have some slider bars on there with some other options...

Oh well, at least I can see how long the battery has got left

My first post http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-...html#post90547
This SMBIOS use original dump from real Mac, and inject additional properties.
I'm try inject with Chameleon 2, but no result. I thing we lost board-id property.

tea: Thanks for your patience and help. I installed your AppleSMBIOS.kext in /S/L/E and rebooted and all is working again.
