My problems with the keyboard/mouse went away when I removed the dsdt.aml file and re-installed it. Everything else works perfectly.

booted onto the drive using a macbook (gotta love the runcore USB interface) and removed the dsdt.aml file and updated extras. disabled onboard ethernet, wlan, bluetooth, legacy usb support, and cardslots on the mini 9 BIOS.

this finally managed to get it to boot into safe mode on the mini 9 then generated a dsdt.aml file.

booted into normal os x (hurrah!) and deleted the dsdt.aml file. restarted and reenabled everything in the BIOS. restarted in safe mode again and generated another dsdt.aml file and fixed bluetooth. restarted back into normal OS X and tadah! everything works!

Moral of the story? i should've just reinstalled the extensions instead of fiddling with the dsdt.aml file and the extensions :/

EDIT: oh, and closing the lid now makes it sleep, so yeah, just reinstall the extensions

Default Battery status not working! - 08-06-2009, 12:45 AM

Update went smoothly, but battery status shows that "battery is not charging" and in about this mac all the battery info is messed up. Reinstalled 1.2a5, deleted, and then regenerated everything, but still no luck with battery. Any ideas?

Also, resume from sleep after closing lid results in a beach ball lockup, the only way to fix it is to shut down by holding the power button until it shuts down.

Any ideas on how to fix these issues?

Update on my 10v went fine, reinstall dellefi 1.2a5, audio drivers and it's running normally. But I also have that battery not charging issue. As long as it's actually charging and it's just a display issue, no big deal...

Used software update on my Vostro A90. Upon reboot, I experienced a double-restart, which is becoming increasingly common with the latest OS X updates. When I finally got back into OS X, the Vostro had no wifi, bluetooth, or audio. I had already been following the thread here and decided to forgo deleting and regenerating the dsdt.aml file, instead reinstalling everything else in EFI 1.2a5. This worked for me, and I've successfully rebooted a couple times, have wifi, bluetooth, audio, and sleep functioning properly.

I do have intermittent Restart issues - initiates Restart process, shuts down, never restarts, so I need to hold the power button down to power off completely and then power back on again. This has happened on and off since hackintoshing for me, though, so I won't hold it against 10.5.8.

About to Restart my Macbook Pro and get it up to 10.5.8, as well.

Good luck to everyone updating today!!!

Just finished installing the combo update on my dell mini 9 from 10.5.6 to 10.5.8.

Rebooted into safe mode after install and ran DellEFI 1.1, rebooted again and ran AboutThisMac.

Everything works perfectly.

To see if I could fix the Restart issue, I deleted and reinstalled the dsdt.aml file without rebooting in between the deletion and reinstall. That fixed the problem for me.

Macbook Pro finished the update just now. Now I need to go help my wife make some thank you cards in photoshop.

How do you boot into safe mode? Because I'm also running 10.5.6 and I want to update to .8.
