Updated last night from 10.5.7 to 10.5.8 without any issues running DellEFI 1.2.5
Only problem like most of people here is the Battery information on minutes.
Percentage plus Icon works just fine but info on minutes remaining="Battery is Charged".
Not such a big problem whatsoever but not as perfect it was in 10.5.7. I hope the guru's here will find a fix for this too :P

Thanks for the outstanding info as always guys

Sleep does not work for me either...
(well... sleep works... but the wake up does not ;-) )
This is rather annoying, it was working perfectly fine under 10.5.7.

So 10.5.8 the first version to boot on the Mini, and yes, it suffered the same power indicator problems that (almost) everyone else is reporting.

I wasn't happy with a less than 100% result, so I went back and reinstalled and updated to 10.5.7, which is where I'm at now. I'll let the experts blaze the trail and follow along behind once there's a clear path.
I did a completely clean install to 10.5.7 using mechdrews How-To: Install Mac OS X - DellEFI Method Single USB (Mac Only) guide.

I also got round to upgrading my BIOS to A05 (I was still on A01) and then I installed all the updates (around 8) using software update, including 10.5.8 (cumulative).

I then safe booted into OS X and ran Dell EFI1.2a5 with the following options:

"Reinstall Chameleon 2.0RC1-r431 Bootloader"
"Reinstall Dell Mini 9 Extensions"
"Hide DellEFI files"

I rebooted and ran aboutmymac.pkg and everything appears to be working fine.

I installed through Software Update then spent the time to get everything working right again. I now have the "Battery is not charging" problem, (sigh).

vestan, could you please check your battery (unplugged) icon and sleep/wake and report back. If you have none of these issues, you are one of a very few. Perhaps your approach is the correct way to upgrade.

Fresh Install, via Mac to RunCore, retail 10.5.6 disc updated to 10.5.8 on the real mac, installed and working apparently perfectly.

Mine will sleep-but then when you wake it up, it will no longer shut down-requires a manual shutdown using power switch.

This is no biggie to me, I don't ever use the sleep option anyway.

Thanks,

-upgraded from .7 to .8 (website link , not software update)
-restart automatically went to safe mode for some reason
-ran EFI 1.25 w/ "the usual"
-restart
-everything's working fine, expect when i sleep/wakeup, i get an odd alternating up/down movement of whatever is selected at the time. all i have to do is hit a key and it stops.
