I tried the MiniBatteryLogger and still don't get the time; it reads "-:--" instead of the time remaining. This is after a reboot and the like. Any ideas on this situation, or is it a problem related to the "Not Charging" issue?

Working like a champ for me. After reboot I ran Dell EFI v1.2a5 and selected "remove custom dsdt.aml file and did NOT reboot. I then ran DellEFI installer again and selected "Reinstall Dell Mini 9 Extensions, "install customer dsdt.aml", and "Fix Bluetooth". After reboot everything is working great.

My only thing is in the future Apple typically requires the latest "." update and won't allow you to use a lot of their software without it (iTunes, Safari, Quicktime updates, etc).

Other then that, not a huge improvement.

When I was reinstalling and creating a custom file from DellEFI I somehow managed to stop it form booting and it's stuck at the Apple logo (tried safe mode)

I'll go reinstall, stick with 10.5.7 until there is some guide or some established working way.

this was a fresh combo install from 10.5.5, i had a restart screen after i attempted to upgrade from 10.5.7 -> .8 and could not get my mini 9 to boot to safe mode. luckily i just got my dell last week. fresh install steps were pretty easy but i had to use a combination of the gizmodo hackintosh and the Mac only EFI install using a slipstreamed osx 10.5.

once i reinstalled and updated i had the same sound and battery problems. just remove and reinstall the dsdt.ami more that once time and the audio fixed itself, i think i used the dellefi install like 3 times before it began to work. unfortunately there's no fix for the battery issue, but the percentage works fine.

**UPDATE**
well, im having the same sleep mode issues as everyone else as well. 10.5.7 is starting to look a lot better. hope someone figure this out soon. good luck everyone.

Default VoodooPower installed? - 08-07-2009, 08:07 AM

To those having battery and sleep issues in 10.5.8: are you running any version of the VoodooPower kexts?

that, and 10.5.8 probably has security related fixes in it

Absolutely no problems.

Procedure was:
Halt Mini (due to the reboot bug)
Start again
Install this Update (Mac OS X 10.5.8 Update)
Reboot
Start Dell EFI 1.2a5 and select Reinstall Dell Mini Extensions and Remove custom dsdt.aml File
Reboot
Start Dell EFI 1.2a5 and select Create custom dsdt.aml File and Fix Bluetooth
Reboot
Do Terminal Mod and reinstall Meklort Driver
Reboot

Somwhere in between i had no wifi, thats all i remember.

all as before now

P.S. it's also a good idea to rerun Monolingual

I downloaded the 10.5.8 Update (274MB), not the combo update, and when I go to install it, at the point I choose a destination volume, my drive has a red exclamation mark, and it states "You cannot install Mac OS X Update on this volume. This volume does not meet the requirements for this update."

What the??? It's a 32GB SSD with about 15GB free, and currently has 10.5.6 on it.

Any ideas??
