Default Need Syslinux help trying to install OSX. - 08-02-2009, 04:02 PM

Ok. I have a 4GB thumbddrive and I'm trying to put syslinux 3.63 on it. Windows won't see my thumbdrive. I went into device manager and deleted USB root hubs, and mass storage. It installs drivers successfully but doesn't appear in my computer.

I went on Ubuntu and downloaded gParted to re-partition the thumbdrive FAT32. Ubuntu sees my drive but windows doesn't and I don't have another windows computer at my house. Is there a way to put Syslinux on the thumbdrive through Ubuntu?

You install it essentially the same way you do on windows
1) Download syslinux
2) Run syslinux (instead of ./win32 its in ./linux)

If you need help, either use the manual pages or the output of the program as should tell you how to use it. The command should be very similar to on windows, except instead of using F:\ you use /dev/sda or something similar.
