Default Jailbreaking iPhone safe on OSX Mini9? - 07-26-2009, 10:12 AM

Hey guys.

Ill be buying an iPhone when i go on holiday this week so i wont be home to jailbreak it with my iMac.

Of course the Mini9 will be with me, but im wondering if its safe to use RedSn0w on a Mini9 with OSX. Are there any instability issues associated with doing it?

I jailbroke my iphone with Redsnow on my mini 9 and there were no issues whatsoever - no different from when I used a macbook.

The easiest way to brick your iPhone when jailbreaking is to corrupt the bootloader while it is being flashed. Redsn0w downloads the entire binary to the device before proceeding with the flash, so if you're worried about a kernel panic or crash while jailbreaking there is nothing to be worried about. Honestly you should be able to disconnect the device after the 'Downloading Jailbreak Data' screen.
