[UPDATE] - GUID partition and rebuilt OSXDVD 8GB USB stick and it is _STILL_ not bootable. I am able to select USB at the boot menu, but the LED flashes a second and then Windows takes over booting. The Mini 10v sees the drive and when I attempt to view its contents in Windows (XP) explorer, it says that the drive isn't formatted and asks if I want to format it now.
I can't boot to the USB stick after running NetbookBootMaker on my G4 Mac running OS 10.5.7 - the program runs fine and indicates success, but I get "Error loading operating system" when I attempt to boot from it on my Mini 10v.
I detailed some of my other efforts here: http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-...html#post89493
I know I _CAN_ boot from USB sticks as I have two that work fine booting to Linux. But the 2 USB stick method (boot: prompt then enter 80, 81, 82) doesn't work even between those two known working sticks. I entered numbers from 1-112 at the boot prompt and nothing moves the process forward. I even tried 9F (I think it was) which I believe is for an external optical drive, which I don't have... but what else can a guy do when he knows not how to proceed but grab at whatever information is out there and give it a try?
Without being able to load from my 8GB USB stick with the MacOS installation DVD files on it - NOR re-direct booting from a bootable USB stick to another one that's plugged in ---- I am stuck.
Thanks kindly for any further ideas.
