Default Battery Not Charging Anymore?? - 07-20-2009, 10:05 AM

I installed Leopard recently on my Mini 9 and used it fine for about a week, but now the battery wont charge at all and I can only run it from the mains.

After some searching on the forums I found people with the same problems, but no one with this problem running OS X. I tried the Fn + B trick and no such luck. Has any one else had this problem, or can anyone help??

I'm having the same problem… It may be that I just have a bad battery, but it started happening right after I updated to OS X 10.5.7… As you can see, "charge remaining" is 0, even though it has been plugged into the A/C for hours.

Which install method(s) did you use? Also, did you upgrade your BIOS? Have you run DellEFI on your system(s)?

Mini 9 | OS X 10.6.7 | NBI 20100616212351| BIOS 05 | 32 GB Runcore | 2 GIGS RAM
10V | OS X 10.6.7 | NBI 20100616212351 |BIOS 06|160 GB|1 GIG RAM| 6 Cell Dell Battery
Functioning Hibernation

Back up Mini 9| OS X 10.6.7| NBI 20100616212351| BIOS 05 | 32 GB SuperTalent | 2 GIGS RAM

I installed directly onto a runcore, run DellEFI 1.2a5. BIOS is A00, tried to upgrade it but the problem is it wont let you upgrade the BIOS when the battery is less then 10 percent, so I'm stuck there.

Would it be worth reinstalling the Dell Mini 9 Extensions from the Dell EFI?

I have another battery on the way, but I don't think its a faulty battery, I think its software related

Ugh. This has started happening to me just now. Have had a Dell mini 9 running OSX for some time. Used to charge fine, but suddenly the lights are always the christmas-light blinking back and forth, and the battery won't charge. Upgraded to A05 from A04, and no joy.

I'm guessing the battery went bad, but unfortunately I'm about to leave to go overseas on Monday... I can't think of any possible way to, at 11pm on a Friday, get a replacement Dell 9 battery by Monday. I am very sad...
