Default Just got my first Mini 9 - NEED HELP - 07-15-2009, 05:42 PM

I just bought a Mini 9 already hacked to run OSX. I'm probably overparanoid but I want to make sure the machine wasn't hacked by the person I bought it from in a way that would allow him to see my keystrokes or have remote control over the machine.

Aside from rebuilding the OS, anyone have a good suggestion of how to do this?

Thanks to everyone. This site is what inspired me to pick up this awesome machine.

You have no less (or more) guarantee that this computer is malware-free than you would if you bought a used mac from somewhere else (and it's probably MORE likely to be malware free than a used WINDOWS computer).

"Hacked" in this case just means "did something Apple doesn't want us to do," not "compromised," as you're thinking of it.

If you want to be 100% safe, re-build it yourself, but I would say you probably have no reason to worry.
