Default Problems, im new to this - 07-10-2009, 11:37 AM

I have used the slipstream msi mac version to get it installed on my Dell mini 9

16gb ssd
2gb ram
---
The install went flawlessly, after install i was capable of getting sound to work but not wifi. I then upgraded to 10.5.6. It did not fix my wifi issue and it added 2 issues. no keyboard or no mouse. currently i have usb stuff hooked up so i can trouble shoot.
I have the dlel mini boot 123 disk. from which i understand if i use it , it should fix my issues. But i think i'm unclear on how to use it. Do i use the disk while in os x or is the drivers installed during boot up. All i want is a working dell mini 9 with mac os. please help me. I have the file to enable the broadcom wifi, but whe i type in sudo and drag the file into the terminal, it asks for my password, but it doesnt let me type anything. all i can do is hit enter. also the sound doesnt work after the upgrade to 10.5.6 either

This is one of two reasons we do not support the slipstreamed msi install. It is not built for the Dell Mini and your problems are universal. Please purchase a Retail Disc and use the Dell EFI bootloader. You'll have to reinstall entirely.

I would say reinstall. I went out and purchased the retail OS X DVD and bought a USB DVD drive. Worked fine for me. Everything is working and my next project is to get my new Runcore 64GB SSD installed.
