Bluetooth can defintely be made to work absolutely fine in the OS. The fix was simple if the BT was factory installed, it involved editing a USB identifier string in a Bluetooth config file, so that the OS sees the Dell BT module as if were made by Apple. tetany's post claims 10.5.6 only, but I have used it successfully on 10.5.7

Bluetooth Funtionaility is 100% as per my macBook. (on/off/devices etc)

Following later posts meklort even posted a patch script, and the post referes to it being added to a later kext update - don't know if that ever happened.

I suggest looking at the file and seeing if the changes have been made, if not try it.

I can say that it works with 10.5.7 as well. Just did it. I totally forgot that this is how i got it to work on my last install. Thanks for the reminder.

Update: OK, I was mistaken. My Mini 9 DOES in fact sleep when I shut the lid. It does not when I just let it sit there. Not a biggie for me, but I wanted to clarify that sleep via closing the lid works on mine using 0.8.1 - consistent with the expected results.

Well I for one can say that the way audio behaves with either DellEFI 1.1 or 1.2a is noticably different than with the NetbookInstaller.

Easiest way to see is just plug in any sort of USB device which would typically show up in the sound prefpane as a new device. If you've installed via NetBookInstaller it won't be there, it will with either version of DellEFI.

I figured this out when trying to figure out why my MagicJack wouldn't work on my mini. The way the MJ folks make it work is to create a new audio device for the analog phone line digitizer. But then I just tried a cheapie USB audio interface I had around here and same thing happened.

Hi,

I am looking to do a dual boot OSX & XP system. In terms of formatting a 32 gig drive & using this system, whats the best way to proceed?

I am not sure how to use your Netbook Installer with:

http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-...osx-guide.html

or this guide?

http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-...ps-within.html

Thanks,
Rich

Any tips would be great!

Would this installer and drivers work for the Dell 2100 Latitude?
