There is an audio issue that was fixed in 0.8.1. Beside that you can simply wait.

As I mentioned before, I started my install attempt with Netbookbootmaker 0.8.1 on 1 partition of a 2 partition usb HD. I couldn't get my mini 9 to recognize the partition as bootable, then used DellEFIBootMaker 0.3.3 which made it recognizable, installed os x, used netbookinstaller to get me through a few kernal panicks with 10.5.7 and now my mini 9 is happy again with a clean OS X install. The only downside is that somehow my second partition on the USB HD got hosed anyway... won't mount and gives "Invalid BS_jmpBoot in boot block: fa31c0 " when i try to mount through disk utility. So... I guess anyone else trying what I did should proceed with caution.

OK, let make sure we can reproduce this. What exactry did you attempt... to install OSX on an external USB drive? or you restored OSX DVD to the USB drive and tried to use it to install on the Mini SSD? Those are two different things and I am not sure I understand which one you attempted.

Can you also tell me what kind of boot record you had on the USB disk? MBR or GUID? What kind of partitions? HFS+, FAT32, etc.

I'll give the 0.8.1 a try and report back with any issues.

I'm using 10.5.0 Leopard retail disk on a Dell Mini 9 with the 10.5.7 Combo Updater and partitioning a 64GB Runcore so that I can install Windows 7 and Ubuntu afterwards.

Used it to install onto a new SuperTalent 64GB double wide SSD on my mini9. Went smoothly.

Meklort and bmaltais ..... just want to say a big thanks to you guys for the effort that this must take. Really appreciated.

I've ordered a Lenovo S10 because of the promise that the new NetbookInstaller shows for this machine. I love my Mini9 but have decided that the keyboard is now starting to annoy me and want something closer to full size. Pleeeeeeze keep up the support for the S10 as you have for the Dell Mini! I've been so impressed with the Mini through Boot123, DellEFI and now this method....hoping that I love the S10 just as much.

I'll be using the new NetbookInstaller immediately when it arrives and let you all know how it goes.

I restored a 10.5.0 retail OSXDVD onto an external usb drive (250GB WD passport) then tried to install on the mini SSD. The USB drive was formatted with MBR as the boot recorded. The partition that I restored onto was formatted in disk utility as max os x extended (journaled) and was 15 GB. The other partition was FAT 32 and was the rest of the drive so about 200 GB.

I can try to set up the same situation and see if I can reproduce the problem if that would be helpful.
