I had nothing but troubles myself when I attempted to 'upgrade' my 1.2a EFI 10.5.8 to use the new NetBookInstaller RC4.

Shhesh tons of troubles. Finally got back to a working setup with EFI 1.2a.

I read in another thread that at one point in the process when upgrading an existing install vs installing fresh that a restart is required. But the magic that makes RC4 work was to do that restart in safe mode and the run RC4 to do its thing. Perhaps I'll give it another try because I'm itching to see if Chameleon RC2 will enable hibernation on my mini9.

My problem was that installing DellEFI made the machine refuse to boot in anything but single user mode, I got it back after deleting the extra directory and renaming Extra.bak to extra, which returned me to the NetbookInstaller 0.8.2 install. Still no WiFi, get a yellow "failed to load Brcm4032.kext(or something like that)" when I boot in verbose.

Default NetbookInstaller 0.8.2 RC4 - 08-28-2009, 01:34 AM

Hi,
I've updated my 10.5.7 to 10.5.8 then used NetbookInstaller 0.8.2 RC4 for some reason sound and sd card slot stopped working. Any Ideas? I thinking about just doing a clean install then using NetbookInstaller 0.8.2 RC4.

Using release candidate 4 and after installing 10.5.8 I can't see the internal volume... thought that was supposed to be fixed in 0.8.1... guess not.
